About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services usually within aviation Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) or flight training organisations. This qualification is also suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in an aviation workplace context, as a component of a structured vocational education and training (VET) program.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are presently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in aviation instruction. While not immediately available for enrolment, registering your interest ensures you are the first to know when the pathway opens.
Why should I register my interest?
Registering allows us to keep you informed of regulatory changes and partnership updates. It also helps us understand the demand for this specific Diploma, allowing us to prioritise the onboarding of aviation-focused RTOs.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and carries the same national weight as one earned through traditional study. The only difference is how you demonstrate your competency.
How does this Diploma relate to my CASA Instructor Rating?
The AVI50419 Diploma includes vocational training and assessment units that complement the technical flying requirements set by CASA. It is designed to bridge the gap between your flying skills and the formal requirements for VET-sector flight instruction.
Can military flying experience be used as evidence?
Absolutely. Military instructors often have extensive evidence of instructional delivery and assessment. We can guide you in presenting your defence aviation records in a way that aligns with civilian vocational standards.
