About This Qualification
This qualification provides individuals with technical and non-technical aviation skills to operate effectively in a broad range of ground operations and service roles. Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and limited judgement in structured and stable aviation operating contexts within narrow parameters.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and carries the same national weight as one earned through a classroom. The only difference is the method of assessment, which focuses on your existing expertise.
Does this qualification include my ASIC or Airside Driving Licence?
No. This qualification recognises your vocational competency. Security clearances like the ASIC and operational permits like Airside Driving Authorities must be applied for separately through the Department of Home Affairs and relevant airport corporations.
How do I demonstrate 'on-time performance' for assessment?
Evidence for on-time performance can include shift reports, supervisor testimonials, or data logs that show your contribution to meeting aircraft turnaround times and departure schedules.
What if I have experience in a different aviation sector?
This qualification is focused on ground operations and service. If your experience is in flight operations or maintenance, we can discuss other qualifications that may better align with your specific background.
