Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.

You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Registering interest helps us prioritise which qualifications to launch first based on industry demand. It also ensures you receive early access to a skills review once our RTO partners are ready to begin assessments.
Is RPL for rail safety the same as completing the course?+
The outcome is identical. Whether you achieve the qualification through study or through Recognition of Prior Learning, you receive the same nationally recognised Certificate IV. RPL simply focuses on evidence of what you already know rather than teaching you new content.
