About This Qualification
This is a qualification for those engaged in operational roles in a stevedoring environment. It involves a broad range of skilled applications applied in a wide variety of contexts, which may involve application of some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is the Certificate III in Stevedoring currently available for RPL?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to offer this specific qualification. While not yet active, registering your interest ensures you are the first to know when the pathway opens.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering allows us to gauge industry demand and prioritise this qualification with our RTO partners. It also puts you at the front of the queue for a free skills review once the assessment process is finalised.
Is RPL the same as completing a training course?
No. Recognition of Prior Learning is an assessment process that acknowledges the skills you have already developed on the job. It focuses on evidence of your existing competence rather than teaching you new material.
What if I have experience but no formal paperwork?
Our role as your guide is to help you identify alternative forms of evidence. This might include photos of you performing tasks, statutory declarations from supervisors, or practical demonstrations witnessed by an assessor.
How much experience is usually required for this RPL pathway?
While requirements vary between RTOs, typically three or more years of recent, relevant experience in a stevedoring environment provides a strong foundation for a successful RPL application.
