About This Qualification
This qualification provides individuals with technical and non-technical aviation skills to operate effectively in a broad range of ground operations and service roles. Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement and to take limited responsibility in known and stable contexts within established parameters.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Aviation is a highly regulated sector. Registering your interest allows us to keep you informed as we finalise compliant pathways with our RTO partners, ensuring your experience is assessed against the most current national standards.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and carries the same national weight as one earned through traditional study. It is a formal acknowledgment that your experience meets the required competency standards.
Do I need an ASIC to complete this qualification through RPL?
While an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) is not a prerequisite for the qualification itself, much of the evidence required for RPL is typically generated while working in a secure airport environment where an ASIC is mandatory.
How does RPL account for dangerous goods training?
If you have already completed certified training for the transport of dangerous goods by air, this can serve as significant evidence toward the relevant units of competency in this qualification.
What role do 'human factors' play in the assessment?
Human factors and situational awareness are core to aviation safety. The RPL process will look for evidence of how you manage fatigue, communication, and decision-making in a live operational environment to ensure safety is maintained.
