About This Qualification
This is an entry-level qualification for telecommunications linesworkers working on the construction and maintenance of high-speed national broadband network (NBN) infrastructure.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in telecommunications. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when we can facilitate the recognition process for this qualification.
Why should I register my interest?
Registering ensures you are notified as soon as a suitable RTO partner is secured. It also helps us understand the demand for telecommunications recognition, allowing us to prioritise the finalisation of these pathways for experienced linesworkers.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and carries the same national weight as one earned through traditional study. It simply recognises that you have already achieved the required competencies through your work.
Does this qualification help with ACMA Cabling Registration?
Yes, specific units within this qualification are designed to meet the requirements for ACMA cabling registration. Holding this qualification can be a key step in demonstrating your competency to an ACMA-accredited registrar.
Will my experience with fibre or copper be recognised?
The qualification allows for specialisations in Fibre, Copper, or Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC). The recognition process will look at your specific work history to ensure your evidence aligns with the relevant industry specialisation.
