About This Qualification
This pathways qualification provides the foundation skills and knowledge to use basic applied digital technologies in varied contexts. The qualification is designed for those developing the necessary digital and technology skills in preparation for work.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is nationally recognised and carries the same weight as one earned through classroom study, as it assesses your experience against the same national standards.
What kind of digital skills are assessed for this qualification?
The assessment focuses on foundational skills, including operating hardware, using application software packages, communicating digitally in a workplace, and contributing to health and safety.
Do I need to be currently working to apply for RPL?
No. While current experience is helpful, evidence can be drawn from past employment, voluntary work, or community involvement where you have utilised applied digital technologies.
