About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply the skills and knowledge to pursue a career as an athlete at a regional, state or territory level in a specific sport in the Australian sport industry. This qualification reflects the role of a developing athlete and provides a pathway to work as an athlete in a specific sport.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. It is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and meets the same national standards within the Australian Qualifications Framework.
What level of competition is required for this qualification?
This qualification is designed for athletes developing their skills at a regional, state, or territory level. It acknowledges individuals who are working under the guidance of a coach to progress their professional sporting career.
What if my experience is in a specific sport like AFL or Netball?
The RPL process is designed to be sport-specific. Your evidence portfolio would focus on your participation and competency within your chosen discipline, such as rugby league, cricket, golf, or other intermediate-level competitive sports.
