About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have professional level specialised, technical and theoretical skills to plan, carry out and evaluate photo imaging services. The outcomes of this qualification apply to a range of industry contexts in commercial, domestic portrait, media, wedding, illustrative, institutional and art photography work environments, among others.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the vetting phase with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). Our priority is to partner with providers who respect the depth of professional expertise required at the Diploma level.

Is RPL the same as completing a photography course?
No. RPL is a process of recognition, not repetition. It is a formal assessment of the skills you have already acquired through years of professional practice, rather than a teaching program.
What is the entry requirement for this qualification?
To be eligible for assessment, individuals must provide a folio of digital imaging work that demonstrates technical skills equivalent to AQF Level 4. Your professional portfolio is often the ideal evidence for this.
What if my professional work is subject to client confidentiality?
Our consultants can guide you on how to present redacted or de-identified evidence. The focus is on demonstrating your technical competency and theoretical knowledge, not disclosing sensitive client data.
