About This Qualification
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge to work as a non-destructive testing (NDT) technician in manufacturing, engineering and associated industries. The qualification covers theory and practice for major NDT techniques, materials skills and knowledge, and general support skills required to work as an NDT technician.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) who can deliver this specific qualification. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when the RPL pathway becomes active.

Is RPL the same as studying for this Diploma?
The outcome is identical. Whether you achieve the qualification through study or RPL, the standards for competency remain the same. RPL simply recognises that you have already achieved those standards through your lived experience.
What happens if my evidence doesn't cover all the units?
If an assessor identifies areas where your evidence is not yet sufficient, the RTO will provide targeted gap training. This allows you to complete only the specific components you need, rather than repeating what you already know.
Will my experience with ionizing radiation be recognised?
Yes, safety with ionizing radiation is a core component of this qualification. Your documented history of working within these safety frameworks will be essential evidence for your portfolio.
