About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of construction waterproofing design and survey specialists who apply knowledge of construction methods, compliance requirements and materials to implement waterproofing services for professional and statutory requirements. The scope of work undertaken varies across jurisdictions and can include: conducting waterproofing inspections:at point of constructionon existing building to identify issues and remediation requirementsdesigning waterproofing for new constructiondesigning remedial waterproofing solutions for existing buildings.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

When will this qualification be available for RPL?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that have this qualification on their scope. Registering your interest ensures you are the first to know when the pathway opens.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering allows us to gauge market demand and prioritise this qualification with our RTO partners. It also puts you at the front of the queue for a free skills review once the service is active.
Is RPL the same as doing the course?
The outcome is identical; you receive the same nationally recognised qualification. The difference is the pathway; RPL assesses the evidence of what you already know rather than requiring you to study it again.
Do I need to be a licensed builder to apply?
No, but you must demonstrate significant experience in construction waterproofing design, surveying, or remedial consultancy to meet the assessment standards.
What if my experience is primarily in remedial work?
Remedial expertise is highly relevant. The qualification covers both new construction and remediation, so your experience in moisture ingress diagnostics and scope development is vital evidence.
Will this help with Design Practitioner registration?
