About This Qualification
This qualification covers competencies to develop systems; select equipment; and commission, maintain and diagnose faults/malfunctions of refrigeration systems and equipment that apply to commercial food storage and preservation and air conditioning and air distribution equipment and special applications. It includes regulatory requirements for purchasing and handling refrigerants.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of identifying and vetting Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that meet our high standards for electrotechnology assessment. Registering your interest ensures you are the first to know when the pathway is open.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering allows us to assess the demand for this specific engineering qualification, which helps us prioritise our RTO partnerships. It also ensures you receive guidance on gathering the technical evidence required for a Diploma-level assessment.
Is RPL the same as just buying the qualification?
No. Recognition of Prior Learning is a rigorous assessment process. Your experience is used as evidence to prove you meet the same national standards as someone who studied the course. It respects your time by not making you repeat what you already know.
Will this qualification help me get my ARCtick licence?
Yes, this qualification includes the training components required for the full national Refrigerant Handling Licence. Once the qualification is issued by an RTO, you can apply to the relevant authority for your licence.
Does this cover restricted electrical work?
This qualification includes core restricted electrical units designed to meet regulatory requirements for related electrical work in most jurisdictions. An assessor will verify your competency in these specific areas during the RPL process.
What if I have gaps in my engineering knowledge?
