About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the broad work responsibilities undertaken within regulatory and integrity services operations within the greyhound, harness or thoroughbred racing codes. The general qualification covers skills required for a range of racing services and operations.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is the Certificate III in Racing Services currently available?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for this specific qualification. While not immediately available for enrolment, we are actively working to bring this pathway to our candidates.
Why should I register my interest?
Registering your interest ensures you are the first to be notified when we secure a partnership with a delivering RTO. It also allows us to understand the demand for specific racing specialisations, such as Track Maintenance or Cadet Stewarding.
Is RPL the same as studying for this qualification?
Recognition of Prior Learning is an assessment process, not a study pathway. It focuses on the skills you have already developed in the racing industry, allowing an assessor to determine if your experience meets the national standard without requiring you to repeat training.
Can I get RPL if I work in a specific racing code?
Yes. This qualification is designed to be achieved under the conditions of the harness, thoroughbred, or greyhound codes. Your evidence portfolio would reflect the specific protocols and rules of the code you work within.
What happens if I have gaps in my evidence?
If the RTO assessor identifies areas where your evidence does not fully meet the requirements, they will provide targeted gap training. This ensures you can build on your existing foundation to achieve the full qualification.
Do I need to be currently working in racing?
To be well-positioned for RPL, you generally need to be currently employed or have recent, significant experience in racing administration, stewarding, or track maintenance.
