About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the roles of individuals who work as senior deckhands or occupational divers on a commercial fishing vessel in the fishing sector of the seafood industry. In these roles, these individuals have responsibility for a range of fishing operations and may perform dives or vessel operations.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is RPL the same as completing a training course?

What if my experience is specifically in diving?
This qualification accommodates occupational divers in the fishing sector. We will guide you in mapping your dive logs and safety records against the relevant units of competency.
Will my previous sea service count as evidence?
Yes, verified sea service logs are a primary form of evidence. They demonstrate your practical exposure to vessel operations and commercial fishing environments.
