The qualification
About This Qualification
This qualification allows for the attainment of competencies in military skills for a recruit in the military, working at entry level. Individuals would usually immediately progress to a Certificate III or IV in their chosen trade (for example aviation mechanic, health worker, combat system operator, etc.).
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification attained through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through classroom study. It is issued by an RTO and carries the same national recognition, as it confirms you have met the required standards through your service.
Can I use my PMKeyS records as evidence?
Your PMKeyS records and Service Record are vital pieces of evidence. They provide a formal, verified account of your training, deployments, and the specific competencies you demonstrated during your military career.
How does this qualification assist with my transition to civilian life?
This Certificate II translates your initial military training into a formal civilian framework. It provides a recognised benchmark for your discipline, teamwork, and safety skills, making your expertise visible to civilian employers.
