What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in automotive manufacturing. While we cannot facilitate assessments for this qualification immediately, registering your interest ensures you are the first to know when the pathway becomes available.
Why should I register my interest?
Registering your interest allows us to gauge demand and accelerate our partnership process for the automotive sector. It also ensures you receive early access to a free skills review once we have a delivery partner in place.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification earned through recognition of prior learning is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and carries the same national weight as one earned through traditional study. The assessment standards are identical; only the way you demonstrate your competency differs.
What kind of manufacturing experience is most relevant?
Experience in assembling vehicle components, reading technical drawings, and using hand and power tools in a production environment is highly relevant. This includes work on buses, trucks, trailers, or passenger motor vehicles.
How do I prove my skills if I don't have formal paperwork?
Recognition is about evidence, not just paperwork. We will guide you in gathering diverse evidence, which may include photos of your work, videos of you operating machinery, or third-party reports from supervisors who have witnessed your skills in action.
